Williams noted that her affinity for the genre does not extend to her viewing habits. She admitted to being too frightened to watch many acclaimed thrillers, often requiring a blanket to get through shows like Widow’s Bay. Despite this personal hesitation, she expressed a strong desire to continue blending horror elements into her future projects, including the upcoming science fiction thriller Homewrecker.
Beyond her genre work, attention has shifted toward the announced return of the HBO series Girls. Lena Dunham plans to bring the ensemble back for five new episodes in 2027, reuniting Williams with cast members Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet, and Andrew Rannells. Williams expressed enthusiasm for the project, noting that checking in with the characters as she and Dunham enter their forties feels like a natural progression. While the production remains in early development, the status of Adam Driver—who faced significant criticism in Dunham’s 2026 memoir, Famesick—remains a point of public speculation, as he was notably absent from the initial revival announcement.
