On October 20, Hannigan shared a tour of her festive display on Instagram, highlighting several items she secured after the show concluded its seven-season run in 2003. Among the collection are weathered tombstones and a fragile skeleton prop that dates back to the first season. The centerpiece of her display, a large cross, immediately sparked recognition among fans. Viewers pointed out that the item appeared in the second episode of the final season, during a pivotal moment where the character Spike, played by James Marsters, is burned.
Hannigan remains one of the few cast members to have kept such extensive mementos; she appeared in all 144 episodes of the show. Her co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar also retained pieces of the series, including one of Buffy’s signature wooden stakes, known as Mr. Pointy, as well as character-specific wardrobe items like the boots worn for fight sequences. While fans continue to hold onto nostalgia for the show, any hopes for a modern revival remain stalled. Hulu officially scrapped the proposed reboot, Buffy: New Sunnydale, earlier this year, leaving the future of the franchise in legal and creative limbo.
