Carrot Top Returns to Luxor Stage Following Month-Long Recovery

Nearly a month after a suicide attempt forced the indefinite cancellation of his Las Vegas residency, comedian Scott Thompson—known globally as Carrot Top—is set to perform again. The 61-year-old entertainer returns to the Atrium Showroom at the Luxor Hotel & Casino this Monday, October 19, for a sold-out show.

Thompson addressed his fans via Instagram on Saturday, expressing gratitude for the messages and prayers he received during his hospitalization. "I’ve felt your love and appreciate each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart," he wrote, acknowledging the overwhelming support from both the public and fellow performers like Howie Mandel and Brad Garrett. His return marks the end of a hiatus that began on September 18 following a reported prescription drug overdose.

The recovery period was marked by legal controversy. Court filings from Thompson’s attorney, Ronnie Bitman, alleged that the comedian’s distress stemmed from musician Brian Evans, who purportedly demanded $500,000 in exchange for an incriminating video. Evans has denied these allegations, stating that any disputed material had been deleted in accordance with a prior settlement. Despite the turmoil, representatives for Thompson confirmed he is now healthy and eager to resume the residency that has defined his career for two decades.
