The new platform builds on the company’s previous Transcript Genius tool, expanding its scope beyond deposition transcripts to include pleadings, financial exhibits, and handwritten notes. According to CEO Prabhdeep Singh, the product is intended to fit seamlessly into current legal workflows rather than acting as a standalone, disconnected utility. Because Steno already manages the delivery of court reporting assets, users can begin analysis immediately upon receiving a transcript, avoiding the need for additional file uploads or software logins.
Legal professionals can query the system using plain English and receive responses supported by direct, page-level citations to the source material. Dylan Ruga, Steno’s co-founder and a practicing trial lawyer, emphasized that the tool is specifically engineered for the post-deposition phase, helping attorneys verify witness statements against medical records or discovery responses. The platform supports broad data inputs, including imports from Google Drive and Dropbox, and is built to meet SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA security standards. Steno has also implemented a zero-data-retention policy with its AI model providers to ensure client confidentiality.
