LeMieux Appoints James Davenport as CFO in Strategic Expansion

Clothing and equestrian brand LeMieux has tapped former Neal’s Yard Remedies executive James Davenport to lead its financial operations, while simultaneously appointing retail veteran Richard Cotter as non-executive chairman to bolster the company’s push into global lifestyle markets.

Davenport arrives at LeMieux with two decades of senior leadership experience, most recently serving as CFO at Neal’s Yard Remedies. His background includes a twenty-one-year tenure at innocent drinks, where he helped scale the business from a small startup to a brand generating £470 million in annual revenue. CEO Dan Mahoney cited this track record in operational scaling as a critical factor in the appointment, noting that Davenport’s expertise will be instrumental in managing the company’s next phase of growth.

Joining him on the leadership team is Richard Cotter, who steps in as non-executive chairman. Cotter brings a deep portfolio of experience from senior board roles at Berghaus, Jack Wolfskin, and the Jollyes Retail Group. His current advisory work spans several consumer-facing brands, including The Sleep Group and Absolute Collagen. According to Mahoney, Cotter’s commercial and strategic oversight will be vital as the company works to solidify its identity as a global equestrian and lifestyle brand.
