The invitation followed Kelce’s commentary on viral footage of the Princess of Wales participating in Shinty, a traditional Scottish game. While some viewers pointed out the distinctions between the sport and American field hockey, Kelce championed the Princess’s performance, noting that her technical proficiency clearly echoed a background in hockey. “Princess Kate just reminded everyone that she’s still an absolute boss,” Kelce remarked on the show.
Kelce’s proposal draws a humorous parallel to Prince William’s appearance on the “New Heights” podcast in July 2026, where he joined brothers Jason and Travis Kelce to discuss sports and fatherhood. Suggesting that the Princess might consider a shift in venue, Kelce emphasized the invitation was low-pressure, joking that she would welcome the opportunity to host the royal for a chat. Beyond the potential podcast appearance, the Princess recently made headlines for her athleticism during the Scottish outing, where she navigated the game with enough intensity to leave bystanders—and herself—concerned about safety, ultimately resulting in a lighthearted apology for a near-miss shot.
